Bik,
Great job on getting the help that you need with your medication start up and continuing to get out and exercise when you can...
...as well as the lifestyle changes that you are starting to consider. If you feel that getting back to work will help you with your anxiety management, then that is the wise choice for you to make. Try not to let feelings of guilt add your stress. Ten months is good amount of time to dedicate to being your son's sole caregiver. (much longer than many can or do) It is important for you to take care of yourself, so that you can be the best mom possible. The carer has to first care for herself before she can do the best for those she cares for.
The medication that you are taking, as Hibee said is not addictive. Some mistakenly think so since it needs to be taken daily and must be weaned off of, but this is simply to improve performance and to avoid side effects of discontinuation. It may take some time to start to feel the benefit of you new medication. This is expected, and sometimes it seems the challenges can become worse before things get better, but this is temporary and usually results is an Rx that is a very helpful tool....so hang in there and don't get discouraged!
We are here to cheer you on, so please keep us updated on your progress!
