Ativan

As you know, Ativan is a short term anti-anxiety.

The ideal is a long-term anti-depressant that also treats anxiety.

The one that healthline.com says that treats anxiety is Buspirone, also called Buspar.

The anti-depressants that can help, that same website says, are Lexapro, Prozac, Paxil and Zoloft.

Have you tried the long-term medicines?

I've tried Sinaquan (tricyclic) anti-depressant and it worked for both depression and anxiety. I'm on Mirtazapine anti-depressant and it helps with both anxiety and depression. I'm also on Lithium for the mania part of bipolar.

I'm also taking Ativan for a heart situation, but I'm not looking to get off of it.

You said the situation you have is anxiety. Are you seeing a psychiatrist?

As for Zoloft anti-depressant, Cope.org. says top anti-anxiety meds, in their view are, Prozac and Zoloft.

It made my anxiety worse, to the point of where I couldn't be in a large family gathering without having an anxiety attack. It did nothing to help my depression….”
