Im new to this site but i need help in my life..I have been battling anxiety for almost five years.Im at a dead end now.Im not to sure what to do. Anxiety and depression is very genetic in my family..I just need sum help from people who are going thru the same thing..Please help

hi babyj2, welcome to hw! we are glad to have you and there are many great people who will help and give wonderful advice and ideas. Are you going to a doctor or therapist? any meds? I dont know how genetic it is in my family, but i have had panic attacks for over 8 years. Im kinda in a rut, but trying hard to come out of it, good days and bad days, with small baby steps each time. There is always support here, and we all some things in common with this dreaded a/p. Please keep posting and let us help you all we can. HUGS

hello, I too am trying to deal w/ anxiety. I have been in treatment for depression for just over 2 years and the anxiety has shown it ugly face within the past 8mo. My dr and I are still trying to find a method of treat ment that is right for me. I find it hard to muster up the energy anymore to go anywhere and do anything but the research that i have found is helping me deal w/ it. The More Ya Know the better you feel....@ least in my case.

Yes im on meds..and im seeing a psychologist and psychetrist.Its seems like a never ending circle with me.I need real help.I feel like im in a place with no where else to turn. im the same way good days and bad days..last nite was real bad.. i just dont know where to turn.. i think im goin into a depression..

I am glad that you have found us here at HW
It is the best place for support and empathy IMO

I might suggest CBT for both of yous and what meds are you onbaby just wondering
I hope the depression slows down as you come to see you are now no longer alone you have us to fall back on

   Thank you so much for being here for me..I really need ppl who are goin thru the same thing or know how to deal with anxiety..Depression runs real bad in my family and im tryin to avoid it..I was thinkin maybe goin to the hospital or sumthing..Im really lost and not sure what to do anymore..and can i ask what is CBT?

It will get better, just lean on all the great people you have here until it does.  There are so many of us out here that know exactly how you feel.

   Thank you so much...I kno in my heart that it will get better but with time..I need God.. And i need people to understand this type of thing...alot of people jus think that its no big deal but they have no idea what its like to go thru it..

  Hi and wecome to HW

I been living with this anxiety and a/p for over 12 years now and it's allways has it's ups and downs with me to. No one really seems to understand how you feel if they haven't gone though it themselfs and when I found this site it was like a Godsent for me, I had so miny anwsers to my ?'s way more then from my own doctor's and shrink's and I have learned so much on how to deal with it then ever before

  So please feel free to ask anything you want for there so miny here that can help you out

Hi to both of you!! I am new here as well. From what I have read and seen this forum seems to be a great place for people with a/p and depression.
Baby- you said that depression and anxiety run in your family? Has other family members been treated and what treatments worked for them? I agree that a lot of people who don't know what it is like think it is "no big deal" because even though it shows pyhsical symptoms it doesn't result in anything (that the other people can see). Just remember that there are people who are sympathetic to your plight and want to see you get better. If you ever need to talk to someone or have a question let me know.

I am glad that you have a Dr. that is willing to help you find a good treatment. It is true that the more you know (usually) the better you feel. Knowing is half the battle :)

HI and welcome to both of you.. :-) . Hopefully by finding this wonderful site, and learning theres many  people who feel the same way and go through the same things as you,you should feel that little bit better...I know I did!. It was such a relief to know I wasnt alone. I have been suffering with A/P off and on for a number of years now. I have good days and bad days and like many others..there have been times when I felt I was going totally and utterly crazy and would never get out of the black hole that I was in...BUT you do....and that is what keeps me going. If I'm having a 'setback'..then I have got to have been making progress right?!....I know I can be ok again. I have found that CBT works really well for me (cognitive behavioural therapy ) there are a number of online courses I think. I have lessons e-mailed to me every few days by a lady on here.

   Thanks to the both of you..I would like to learn more about CBT..if anyone has any information please let me kno...And yes it runs in my family bad..Well jus about everyone had to go to the hospital and have specialist help them..They stayed they for like 2 weeks..but i really dont want to do that..I wanna try and be a better person than that..And at the end of it all they realized that you yourself is really the only thing that can help you..
