Hello everyone. I have been a member a very short while, and its amazing how many of the posters I can relate to as far as Anxiety attacks are concerned. For about the past 6 mos I have been dealing with major anxiety, pretty much 24/7. Went to my doc, and he is an old school MD, doesnt want to prescribe anything until he is sure I need meds. Full medical and I am in great shape, so next step a few therapist visits, which was OK but all the stuff the therapist suggested I was already doing, relaxation excercises etc. So now I am trying to decide what to do next? I hate going through every day with the feelings of dread that I have, and wondering when my fears are going to come true eyes Thanks for listening, and just seeing that I am not the olny person who deals with these demons helps me along the road.

Your next step should be to see a psychiatrist - preferably referred by someone that you trust. You've done a lot of good things...

Hi and welcome. I wish you a good stay here. I am Kitt. I agree that your next step is to see a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist can help you the best right now and also if you need meds this person is best qualified to order the anxiety drugs. Perhaps even one of the antidepressants known to have anti anxiety properties would be a choice.

Heya everyone, Thanks for responding. Yeah I think some further help is probably needed, but its kina scary. I tend to be a bit of a control freak, by that I mean in control of myself, so its a little bit weird for me to admit that I need someone else to staighten me out. I guess its just me. Anyway long weekend is here and I am going to try to relax and spend some quality time with my wife, she always brings me back down to earth. Have a great long weekend everyone, at least those of us in Canada.

I am just getting over a very tiring couple of days but still have today and I take daughter to airport for Vancouver trip tomorrow

I am in Bothwell close to London and about an hour the other way from Windsor ..........

Heya Lyn, nice to hear from another Canuck. We are in Richmond, just 20min south of Vancouver, and about 5min from the Vancouver Airport. Well my wife and I just relaxed over the weekend and had a really nice time. We are trying to stick around the house for the next couple of weeks, as we are getting a kitchen reno done yeah . Feelin a little tense today, but on we go, I didnt sleep at all last nite which isnt unusual for me after a weekend. I typically start worrying about work at 3 or 4 on a Sunday, and dont stop until Monday nite, so I tend to be tired on Mondays. Anyway have a great week and Take Care..
