going off zyprexa

i have read alot lately of the side affects of zyprexa and the blood  sugar issues scare me , my mom is type 2 diabetic and so was both my grandmothers, my  levels have been checked and have stayed normal before taking this, but lately its been going up and down, i going off of it tomorrow, this is me, i'm not giving anyone else advice its my choice,  please check with your doctor ,  it may be fine for you, i just feel scared of it, i've gained weight, i feel like i'm graving sugar or food, and i don't need to gain weight my mom became diabetic because of her weight,

i tried talking to him but all he says is its a good med and all medicine has its side affects, which i know , i just going to tell him i'm not taking it anymore, and if there is something different i feel safe with, i don't have any health care and he won't talk to me unless i make a appointment, so its costing me a small fortune. i can't honestly afford to take to 2 expensive meds too, but thanks for your concern skitt, i'm just so worried about this med for me.

about two months, my doctor put me on it for 6 months, and didn't say anything about check ups, my family, mom grandmothers where diabetic, and according to the pamplet there supposed to monitor me since i'm predeposed to become diabetic , i worried about taking it, i don't need something else wrong with me, don't have insurance, zyprexa may be fine for others but i feel not for me. i was taking 2.5 mg a day.

Hi Machelle! I have been on zyprexa/2.5mg daily for a little over two months. I have reduced my daily dose down to 1.25mg before bed. My doc will be stopping this dose shortly I hope. Did you experience tremors/shakiness while coming down and while you were on this med? I know you stated you thought i was from your blood sugar being low. I experienced the low blood sugar in the beginning but it leveled off. I do now get shaky as I am coming down in dosage.
