Try stating your worries out loud and working through the "worst case scenario". I guarantee you will start laughing, and realize that the liklihood of these things happening is pretty low.
I also recommend "The Worry Cure" (book). Different approach to worrying. Helped me a lot.

I am not familiar with that book you mentioned, is it CBT based? I love the TEA forms from the book by Sam Obitz and also recommend the books by David Burns and Claire Weekes. All are CBT based books
I agree about
that first line also, attacking anxiety directly has helped me a great deal. We used the book by Sam Obitz in my group and the TEA forms are excellent!
