How long does klonopin (generic) usually take to work?

The dosage may need to be higher, I know when I was on a low dose it didn't feel like it was working either. I guess the dosage depends on your size and how severe the anxiety is. When I take mine (twice a day) I usally if calm don't notice anything or if I'm anxious like today I usually feel it working within the hour.

My experience with the drug is that I feel nothing. It sort of "silently" stops the panic attacks pushes anxiety to the background. Some people get sleepy when they first start taking it, but not everyone.

Have your panic attacks gone away? Decreased?

That is a low dose I believe and you should not feel anything really but less anxiety and panic and perhaps some more relaxed and laid back .........

Everyone reacts differently to meds but as pointed out you should have had less a/p after 4 to 5 hrs once taken this is a faster acting med ...it is in the Benzo class not one that you have to wait 4 to 6 weeks for any noticable changes

You should talk to your doc about putting amount up or at least talk to him/her and explain IF you are NOT getting or finding any RELIEF whatsoever...dont just up it on your own what is your total dosage supposed to be ??

After five days it still hasn't quite reached a steady plasma state. Give it a little more time. For most people 1 mg/day does the trick. Give it a fair shot and if it doesn't help in, say, eight days, consider (with your doctor's consent) raising the dosage. And if that doesn't work, then you need to consider another medication because you don't really want to be in a situation where you're taking a high dose of Klonopin and have to taper from it.

So, four more days on 1mg/day, then reevaluate with your doc.

A lot of people don't like benzos, but one thing is for sure: they're almost universally effective. Very straightforward in how they work. Provided your diagnosis is correct and there's nothing else going on, the Klonopin should give you some relief. It is subtle, though.

Another thing I forgot to ask is if you're taking the real deal (Roche Klonopin) or a generic? Benzos have a very narrow therapeutic index and a switch to a better generic might be good for you. I've had good luck with Caraco.
