paxil CR 25mg 2X daily what do u think?

went to see the doc. once again, I was having problems w/ anxiety mostly in the morning, so he is ramping me up to paxil cr 25 mg twice daily, anyone had any experiences w this? just a recap, I started back on paxil after trying to switch to lexapro which didn't work at all, I'm taking paxil cr right now and bf I was just taking regular paxil, I'm doing a lot better but I am also on ativan 2x daily and had trouble trying to get off of it so the doc bumped me up, I tried taking it bf I went to bed also and it didn't work, I hope this works I don't know what they will say at work if they find out I'm on ativan, I've been on ativan for about 4 or five months now does anyone thin k I'm becoming dependent? I hope not anyway please pray from me, thanks for any comments

I was on Paxil CR 75mg for almost a year now for generalized anxiety disorder. I had to go almost directly to the highest dose to be helped. The same was true when I was on Zoloft for 12 years-200 mg of it-the MAX dose! But I'd do it all again in a heartbeat to not feel that anxiety all the time! I hope it helps you! I've just been changed to generic paxil cuz medicaid won't pay for the Paxil CR anymore. I'm on buspar with it. Do you take buspar?

No I've never heard of buspar, I'm taking ativan I've been told its like xanax, its in the benzo family, I take .5 2x daily, do u split the CR into 2x daily like me, if so does it help?, I was on generic paxil before I tried to switch to lexapro, the doc didn't try to raise my dose it was 30 mg, I don't see him anymore, devil I was fine for so long on that dose, don't know why it stopped working and I wasn't taking any bezoes, anyway thanks for the reply, hope to talk to ya soon.

Ativan is in the same family as Xanax but they are not the same med.  Ativan is one of the strongest and shorter acting of the benzos.  Can you become addicted, yes you can and it is a med that I used and was at the max dose of 4 mg/day.  I weaned off it by switching to Valium through my Pdoc.  4mg of Ativan = 40 mg of Valium.  I am at 2 mg of Valium now.

If the Ativan is not working I would visit with your physician about switching to Valium as it is a much longer acting drug.

I worked full time on a benzo as long as you know you are able to function and do not have to deal with dangerous equipment, there may be no problem for you.
