Hello Everyone.
I am starting Part 2 of this thread and going to bring forward a couple of threads posted elsewhere to keep this topic going.
Mods are not as different from youselves as some people seem to think. Mods are simply members who volunteer their time to making sure other members have support and that HW rules are not broken. Aside from that... we are just ordinary members underneath. We have problems like you have, we have good and bad days just like you have and we even have a sense of humour just like you. :)

Great thread .........I know I decided I had to give back some of what I have been given in my time here at HW
I lost mom to c/o of Alzheimers and Dad is going down as well with same DD....I am the caregiver for him and was for mom........I have a teen daughter 32 yr old son and 2 grandbabes.............10 and 7 yrs old .......Retired RN and come from Ontario Canada. I first found this site at my lowest and was taken in and supported and care for by so many of the ppl on all forums .......that was why I wanted to be a Moderator......To volunteer and try to keep HW running smoothly as well as getting to know members of old and all the new ones .....this site has grown so much in the last few yrs and has great rep for its support information sharing and caring
Moderators are sometimes thought to be out to " get ppl" because we have to edit or refer to rules BUT that is NOT ONLY what we are here for and why we spend endless hours reading posts and responding to them ..........For me it is because I am trying to give back as much as I can to HW and the ppl that helped me out and still do during those rough days ....I really enjoy seeing ppl make progress and be happy with the accomplishments they have made this makes it all worthwhile IMHO
Also to keep spammers in check and your info secure ( why we ask you to put personal info in profile not post as Non members can get it then" not when in your profile)
Yep we do make mistakes we are only human and i am not above being corrected at all ..I welcome knowing if I have given wrong input .........and knowing right for next time ..........
I also hope more Mods will pop in and just give you an idea of them and why they are moderators
Anyone can apply as a Moderator ..at the side in yellow
If you feel you have the time and want to give something back to HW there is always volunterring
Take care all and know I too am the same as you I have really great days and then some really bad days but always a smile will come onto this face reading of your steps and successes...............
Please do remeber we ( I ) am only Human .......we are just like all others here..........LYN

Hey all,
Good Morning...........yes Moderators are just members with problems like everyone else here.
I have A & P, Depression, Gerd, IBS and a hubby with Crohn's. I have lost a son in a car accident and just yesterday buried my sister.
The love and support I have received these past 3 weeks from the members of HW has just reinforced in me that mods are human and soak up the love and support of all the members of Healing Well.
So today I may be the person with the ability to help, but tomorrow I may be the recipient of other member's effort. Volunteering as a Mod is my way of giving back the love and support I receive.
Gentle Hugs to all
Kitt
