Reaching Out

Is there anyone else in the age range 20-25 or older IDK, going through IBS, Gastritis, GERD? I feel talking to someone who understands what I'm going through will help me out w/stress...please if you are going through any of this, Anxiety as well... I would love to just talk about treatments/expierences/bad days good days.. I just need support.

Hi there New Mother,   Welcome to Healing Well, this is a great place to be and everyone here is so very helpful, thoughtful and like family.  I think you will like it here.   I also am not as young as you are now, but my problems started in my teens (about 30 years ago-LOL).  I also have IBS, GERD (which has caused another condition called Barrett's Esophagus) and other issues.    The IBS can be a real problem for me - I'm either constipated or running to the bathroom - there never seems to be an in-between for me.   Have you tried antacids for the GERD?  If so, how well do they work for you?  Have you tried the OTC Pepcid (I think it's that one that's OTC)?  Have you talked to  your doc about these problems?  If so, what does he/she say about this?  The GERD really has to be put under control, you are young and shouldn't have to deal with this.  Have you posted any of this on the GERD/Heartburn board?    I will try to help you as much as I can because I know how troublesome these issues are.  I've had them for many years and know what you are going through.  But some answers to the above questions would help me to help you.   I've also been dealing with the anxiety and panic attacks for a long time, but the current intensity of them is fairly new to me.  I had a nervous breakdown about six months ago and have been in the hospital twice for it.  I don't want you getting to that point, so let us help you in any way we can.   Keep us posted and I and sure others will try to help you too.   Wen
