I have been having panic attack since I was 15 (my first one was at 12 but went away after the first time I had one and they didn't start happening chronically until 15) and I am now 19. I was put on xanax at 17 and it help greatly. They completely, for the most part, went away.
I've also always hated how people (esp. my parents) would tell me to stop "worrying so much" or "learn to relax". Or when people asks "are you thinking about something?". I actually still do not know what causes mine to come on, I'm usually not thinking about anything and usually just sitting down and they come on. I've also read that "exercise helps" but I've noticed it makes them worse because it makes the breathing speed up and I exercise every day by walking to most places, so it makes me think that no one really has a cure for panic attacks, naturally. But recently I have noticed that my panic attacks have come back (and I need my medication more now than ever) but for once I think I actually know why.
I was wondering though, who takes medication here and who can naturally cope with panic attacks?
