I can't believe it---
FINALLY---after waiting to get approved and get an appt.---I finally had my cervical MRI to TRY and see WTH is going on with my neck/shoulder pains.
IT was a regular MRI (kind of closed in)---and I do get claustophobic sometimes----but, all day I told myself I would be fine--I would just close my eyes and get through it!
so, I get there, and I see a little girl (8-10 y.o.) who obviously had cancer in the waiting room-that upset me...poor babe! :(
Then, when I got into the MRI room---I looked at the machine (Blech)---talked to the tech. about the whole process---and she told me she'd give me a washcloth to put over my eyes if it bugs me!
Well, ya' know---having the washcloth over my eyes made me claustophobic---so, I made her bring me out of the machine---took it off---then, went back in with my eyes closed the WHOLE Time----and just practiced breathing and having a visual spot to focus on (in my mind--the beach).....
So, after 20 minutes--and it was done---I felt OK--BUT MAN---that machine is stinking loud! I had ear plugs in too!
I was tempted to open my eyes during the procedure but, I told myself not to do it----I could "see" light through my eye lids---but, the total darkness with the washcloth (OMG)--totally freaked me out!
I DID IT!!!! WHOO HOO!
