cymbalta/starting tommorow

i have tried numerous ad drugs and having a problem finding the right anxiety/depression pill any good news is welcome i will be taking 30mg in the morning

Hi Bulldog I have been taking Cymbalta for 6 weeks now . I love it . Been on a few ssri 's over the yrs . This is a little different its a snri . The only side effect I had were a little sick to my stomach for a little while in the morning ( eat something ) . I also noticed an increase in anxiety , but that is a side effect . Actually it gives me lots of energy ( which I needed ) .  I do get sleepy in afternoon , but I have also been getting up at 5am in the morning now . If you feel anxiety with this just know it is a side effect and you are not having an attack . I have heard good and bad about this , but has been good for me . Started on 30mg for 2 weeks and then went up to 60mg . Know big side effects when I uped my dose . Give it time to work i started feeling better after a week . I can laugh now !!      Megie

I also take cymbalta 30mg for anxiety/panic disorder.  I've been taking it for quite awhile.  The initial start up side effects can be quite rough, but they do go away with time (for me, anyways).  I almost gave up several times, but I stuck with it and it is by far the best ad I have taken.  I have energy, but no anxiety.  I was also tired in the afternoons, but I found if I pushed through it, the tiredness would go away.  Now, I don't even have the fatigue.  It is a great med, but you have to stick with it through the intitial side effects!

Hi Bulldog, i know what it's like to run the anti-dep crash course!!  I've tried so many I can't even remember them..or maybe that's just old age (who knows!)

Megie and Americandancer have both had positive results with Cymbalta (thanks for sharing guys - I'm so happy you are feeling better) and I hope you do as well.  It sounds like the initial side effects can be not the best fun..but keep in touch with your doc about these and hopefully they will pass.  I wish you all the very best and keep us posted!!!

hello bulldog , how are you doing on your Cymbalta ? I am still liking it , starting to feel normal ( whatever that is ) yeah . Was a little stressed this morning because I have to go to town , but am feeling better about it now . Would rather stay home in my " safe space " . Just have to grab my keys and head out . Hey Bulldog,

I am on the Cymbalta and had no problems going on it at all. I was at 120 mg for awhile but I started to feel like I had a flat affect so lowered to 90 mgs, then down to 60 mgs.  At 60 mgs some of the depression came back so I am back at 90 mgs divided dose.

I think the best is to try it and give it the fair trial of 4-6 weeks unless you have side effects you absolutely cannot cope with.

I too have run the course of trying many and have had some bad experiences so as long as I am able to function on Cymbalta I will stick with it.
