medical procedure tommorow

Hello - I just wanted to say hi and that I have to go tomorrow to have a medical procedure done where they have to put me under for my bladder. I am nervous and stressed out. I have been put under with this drug a couple of times for scopes for UC but this time is in the out patient of a hospital and I have never been there. I stress over the dumbest thing like I won't be able to pee for the preg test they have to do before they put you under. I cant drink water after 6 am and my test is at one. Normally for my scopes I go in the day before for the pee test just in case but this nurse will not let me. I am worried I will be in pain when I wake up and I am a big baby about that. I just get really stressed out in hospitals and with doctors. I even get stressed out(majority) when I visit someone else in the hospital. It takes me a long time to trust a doctor and I don't know this one very well. I always feel like they will not be doing their best to make sure everything goes smoothly. Part of my problem is I take alot of chem classes with pre-med students and I have never met one that seemed that bright. The worst thing is when you are lying in the hospital bed and they are wheeling you into what ever room you are going to and I just feel so helpless. The fact that I might not wake up keeps running through my head and I get panicked. I guess I just wanted to vent. Hopefully you will hear from me tommorow afternoon and I will be alive and well and happy.

You are not a baby...............I am the whiner and the baby when it comes to having to go for procedures as I stress out ahead of time and feel sick driving to the  medical center and then the procedure goes well.

They should let you bring in the first morning sample of urine in a speci cup and then have you not void anymore..............makes more sense to me but they must have a reason.

I will be thinking of you and praying all goes well for you.  Let us know when you can how you are. 

I have found that I come to this site and post when I am waiting for the time to arrive to go to Dr. appointments as it takes my mind of the worry.

Maybe the repeated exposure at the hospital w/ your IV infusions will help your fear! It will be forced CBT.

thank you all for the support - I have been knitting a scarf for my mother which I bought yesterday and that keeps my mind focused and off the fact that Im not at home. It helps.
