Got the gastric emptying scan results today and they show delayed gastric emptying. Which is pretty much what I had expected. Got an appointment with GI doc on Thur. I will get the exact numbers then. Been pretty sick today and very worried/depressed over this. I am sure it's gastroparesis now. I don't know where I go from here. Doctor does not seem to be very knowledegable or concerned about it cry I am pretty scared at this point.

Also had a pretty bad panic attack on Sat nite, over climbing a big flight of stairs then being real out of breath shakehead I can't believe the triggers I have at times. Praise the Lord for Ativan. smilewinkgrin

Hi BlueRose, im sorry you are struggling at the moment- it sounds like a real rough patch. sending some prayer your way, and hope you dont have a panic attack again any time soon. you will get through this, remember as bad as a panic attack feels, it cant physically hurt you.

I am sorry to hear your news but with our prayers and your own inner strength I know you will be ok. 

Treatment of gastroparesis depends on the severity of the symptoms. In most cases, treatment does not cure gastroparesis—it is usually a chronic condition. Treatment helps you manage the condition so you can be as healthy and comfortable as possible. Several medications are used to treat gastroparesis.

Thank you Maz, kitt, and Green. I am feeling much more positive today and not vomiting any, thank God. I know I will have good and bad days, weeks and months. It's definitely something that will be with me for the rest of my life, so learning to cope with it and to find the right treatment for me is my most important thing right now. I will post update for you all after GI appt. on Thu.

Thank you everyone. The appt went ok. I'm getting a CT scan of my kidneys tomorrow and they want to to an ivp? I think? Where they put a little scope up there and take a look around? Not looking forward to that one, but the CT scan seems relatively painless. I'm glad I'm getting to the bottom of things. I got my ultrasound results today already too. I have a very small cyst. No big deal I guess :-).

im glad they are getting to the bottom of what is wrong with you so they can hopefully fix it- the scope shouldnt be too painful, maybe a little uncomfortable but thats it. you will sail through it easily. the key is to relax your legs. i have polycystic ovaries and have had this procedure several times. its not pleasant, but its not the worst thing ever.
