I am so glad I found a place where I can talk to other people suffering from the same thing I have.  I hope to make friends and have someone to talk to when the PANIC kicks in....

welcome! i'm pretty new to this forum, too, but already i've found that the people here are so kind and ready to help in any way they can. anxiety and panic is something we all can understand all too well, unfortunately, so please come here when you need someone to talk to!

Thanks for the warms welcome. Thank You to everyone. I am so glad I have a place to go. It is hard. I just got back from the doctor and I have something called a-fib. I am trying to get all the info I can get on it. It has to do with my good ol ticker so of course...PANIC ATTACKS ARE IN FULL FORCE NOW. He put me on a med called toprolxl. I am scared to take meds. I am on vistaril for my panic and it doesnt help. Just makes me fall asleep. Like a sleeping pill. If I had a major attack it would not help. My regular doc put me on Paxil...I took it and I dont like it. My dad gets xanax and I took a half of one of those and they helped me. I want to ask my doctor for them...but everyone in our little hick town I live in are drug addicts and she wont give them to me....lol....I dont know...I am so scared about my heart...and all I do now is sit around and imagine it blowing out of my chest. I need help......

Angela, hello! I am new here, too. I have had issues with heart palpitations and my doc put me on a beta blocker. That may be what toprolxl is. The side effect I had for a few days was fatigue. I was very sleepy. But I'll take that side effect over all the others any day. Remember you went to the doctor. He/she has given you a diagnosis and meds. Now it's time to relax. Take the medication and talk to us when needed. Also, explore this forum. There are many resources that may help you!

Thanks Aries...you made me feel better....I dont know why I am so scared of meds....it is silly...I know they are here to help you....but my anxiety kicks in and my brain sends me things like...OMG...IF YOU TAKE THAT YOUR HEART WILL STOP.....YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE WILL DROP AND YOU WILL DIE... crap like that...I dont know how to make myself realize that meds are here to help me...lol..I sound like a crazy person...lol...
