First Day Back..

So tomorrow is my first day back at work, after 7 weeks of school holidays. sadly, australia is in the grips of a particularly nasty heatwave. my classroom is upstairs- where heat rises and gets trapped. the school does not have air-con. i have 1 broken ceiling fan. we are expecting temps in the late 30's to 40 degrees celcius.

Im still unwell from my 'bang head in pool' incident, and i fear i will wilt like a flower in the heat tomorrow. all heat agitates me- when it gets to record breaking hot, then im in big trouble. ive also been to the doc, i have pharyngitis (like strep throat but worse). im on round 3 of anti-biotics this month.

Im dreading tomorrow and could use some prayer- i like my job, but the state education department treats its staff and students like crap-  we arent even worthy of basic ventilation.

Prayers family? i know i can always count on you guys- my peeps!

Love to you all, im a darn good teacher and i dont want sickness and hideous weather to get in the way of me doing my job well.

Dear Maz,

Ouch I am sorry you have to go back to work under those conditions, that is insane.  You get no airconditioning and our schools have cut back on the heat at the schools.  I will see many of the kids wearing their jackets to keep warm. 

I heard one teacher say she had her long underwear on during our really coldest weather.

You have my prayers and know I will be thinking of you on your first day back at it.  Take care of you and if you need to go home because your sick, you do it or they will be taking you out on a stretcher.

You're gonna be in my prayers....I get very miserable in high heat situations also so I can relate to how you are feelings especially with no air conditioning..... that's just wrong!! Hope you feel better very soon. Try taking a small insulated lunch bag with you with a bunch of ice in it and a put a washcloth in there and place it on your neck at times to cool your body a bit.

Gilly I can relate with you also.....I used to do that type of work before I decided I couldn't take it anymore and went back to school! Haha hang in there both of you guys!

You are in my prayers, I hate the heat as well keep the fluid levels up and see if you can get a fan surely your school should provide these I hope?
