Hello All.................This has been such a great topic that I want to give Maz a break but keep the topics coming.........

Are you working to improve your relationships or do accept them as they are?

Good question Kitt and thanks for taking over for Maz.  I know how it is going for her.  Me and my niece and nephew were watching the news today and saw a story on the fires in Syndey.  What a tragedy.

As for your question, yes, as a matter of fact, I am working on relationships with my family members.  We are already "tight" as a family and there for each other no matter what and love each other more than life itself but I want more "quality" time with my nieces and nephews and the rest of my family.  There is being together and then really "together".

Hey great question :)

I do accept my relationships as they are but I also work on improving them as well, if that makes sense? Kind of like everything is great and I try to strengthen the bonds :)

Sam, those are the words I was looking for.  The relationships are strong but trying to strengthen the "bond".  Thanks.

Thanks Diane :) I think many of us probably feel this way as busy as the world and everyone's lives have been lately :)

Well... I'm kinda distant in a lot of my relationships (family, friends, etc.)... And... I guess I'm just not much of a relationship person... A lot of times, I'm too afraid of getting closer because in the past, it's only led to heartache... (Family drama, death, family drug-addicts having a relapse, etc.) Its all too much for me... Its too overwhelming...

I prefer to love from afar...

My relationship with my husband is wonderful, but you should always be trying to make things even better (in my opinion). But since my Mom passed I am really trying to strengthen my relationship with my siblings. Since both our parents are gone now I think its even more important to stay close. Good question!!

I guess I should take a stab at my own question.

My husband and I live in Minnesota on the Mississippi and my Inlaws live in Wisconsin on the Mississippi.  We are only 12 miles away but often are left out of any "come on over for suppers" etc as we live so far away......

I have always wanted family and all my neices and nephews on my hubbies side are close to the other aunts but not me as we are "out of state".  I am trying to build a relationship with them but they are all nearly young adults now.

As you know My only blood family besides my immediate family is my sister from North Dakota. 

I am letting the past hurt feelings for not being included on either side go and trying to get to know the young kids better.  I am calling my sister-in-laws etc but it is not because we don't like each other..........it has always been a distance thing.  Out of site and town, we were out of mind.

No ones fault........just life.
