Menstrual cycle - Does it trigger Panics?

My GF seems to have more extreme anxiety... bad panic attacks when she's about to get her period. Are there any studies on this?

. The week before a women gets her period hormone fluctuations can make her more anxious. It's listed as a symptom of PMS. Not all women experience it. I do! The week before my period I am anxious and irritable.

Well my anxiety is very bad before my period. (During too) Hormones can do crazy things to us.
