Anxiety / Tingling in Head

Hi All:

Well, I thought I was coping well with my anxiety but recently (last 2-3 weeks) been having a strange tingling sensation right on the top of my head as well as face/check area.  I read on some other sites that this is a symptom of anxiety/panic.  Is anyone else having any tingling sensations in the head similar to this?

I went for CAT scan of head and all appears fine.  I dont want this to get out of control like the "heart" condition I thought I had earlier this year.  As most of you know, with anxiety we tend to create a "snow ball" effect and blow simple things into major illness.

Only medication I was given was Alprazolam to take 3x daily as needed.  I usually only take 1/2 tablet evry other day or so.

Yes when I am really anxious I will get that tingling. I think mine is because I kind of hyper ventilate and it gives me the tingling sensation. I don't believe it is anything to be concerned with. Good luck!

Yes...I get head tingles all the time.  I get it all over my body.  Sometimes it feels like goosebumps but there's nothing there when I look.  Think it's either anxiety or my fibromyalgia.  Or both!  Yipes!

I have this same issue it feels like my scalp is numb and it sometimes goes all the way down to the right side of my face it really scared me the first time I felt it. Its weird how Anxiety can cause so many physical issues.

I had a similiar feeling years ago. I told my doctor about it and he suggested increasing my medication. That helped. Your doctor prescribed the medication 3 times a day but you're hardly taking it. Maybe you should consider taking it 3 times a day? Are you afraid of needing the medication on a regular basis?

Please don't overthink the medication thing. The quality of life is very important. If you're suffering, take the meds as prescribed. Also, I would ask a pharmacist if you can even take your medication the way you are taking it. You may be experiencing side effects. Take care!

I have no problem with the medication. Since it states 3x daily as needed I thought ...ok..I take it when I am having an anxiety attack! Which, when I think about it, is too late since it takes 30 minues to get in th body. Overall I guess I am fortunate since it has been nearly one month since my last attack. They seem to happen onor near the 20th of the past three months for some reason. My attacks are simply rapid heart beat which last about 3-5 minutes. I thought I had the anxiety under control but with the tingling on top and back of head is a reminder that it is not that easy to get rid of.
