You get hit with another episode. This time I got a triple play (3 reasons to be upset).
1. My kids are sick.
So my fiancee got a cold over the weekend and it was a mess. He hardly ever gets sick but when he does WATCH OUT. He was oh so generous to give it to the kids who are 3yrs and 6mos. by the way. So the fact that Mr. Super Immune got sick ,and my kids got sick (with fevers) had me a little worried -of course I expect the worse. We did go to the doctors today and the doc said the beby has pink eye (imagine holding down a feisty 6mo old girl to put drops in her eye) and to let the cold run its course just keep them hydrated. I just feel so bad because I can't make them feel better. What if I get sick next I don't want to make them sick again.
2. My second problem is my friend is going through something and she needs me. Her fiancee just lost his daughter she was only 2. Just the thought of someone going thru this makes me ill. I feel for her fiancee and daughters mom so much. I'm just going to try my best to be there for her and pray for their family. She's always there when I need her, she never judges me and she always honest with her opinions so she's a great friend.
3. The sharp headaches caused by the darn TMJ. Here comes the health anxiety. They come and go but no matter how many times I get them they scare me. Does anyone experience this. I mean its like this sharp pain on either side of my head.they don't last very long and I've noticed that certain things that I do (they way I lay, turning my head, clenching my teeth) bring them on but sometimes they just happen. Although I have told my doc about
this it still worries me. I am supposed to use a mouth guard at night but keep forgetting to get one. I just wish it would go away.
Well those are my new issues I'm thankful because things could be worse. Thanks for letting me vent AP family.

Hi Nelle,
Sorry to hear things are going so rough. Hope the kiddos get better soon. One way to look at it though. Is them getting a cold helps them build up their immune systems. So in the long run its a good thing. My oldest was sick all the time. Now she is a healthy pain in the rear teenager.
Now about
the TMJ. Yep I get the sharp pains in my head. Man do they hurt and just come on out of no where. Ugg I hate them and sometimes they do upset my anxiety/pa. But I'm getting a little more used to them.
about
the mouth guard. I to am supposed to wear one. Doc suggested over the counter if I can't get to the dentist. Well hubby and I went and bought one. And right on the label it says NOT TO USE FOR TMJ. Darn it!
So instead I am working on fixing what one of the causes of TMJ is on my own. And that has helped a lot in relieving some of the pain from it.
Over the years I've noticed my bite change. I thought it was just normal. Well turns out that is one of the causes from TMJ. So I'm working on getting my lower jaw's bite postion back to where it should be. And since I have been working on this. The headaches are gone and a lot of the muscle spasms and pain has reduced by quite a bit.
Now when/if you go to the dentist they will do the same thing but useing a mouth guard to force you into a new bite position. If you can work this on your own you might avoid the visit. (Not recommended but I hate doctors )
The mouth guard you get from the dentist requires you to wear it 24/7. You do not remove it except to brush your teeth and it goes right back in. The guard will adjust your bite slowly taking about
a year event to complete. Every 1-3 months the dentist will move the bite until you are comfortable with your new bite. And then get you used to it. They will also do muscle relaxations along the jaw and face to help with the new bite.
Its all very simple process and painless. Just lots of visits and lots of money =(
If you can afford it. Go see the dentist. If not maybe read up on it and verify for yourself on what you can do to help it.
My doc did something. Kinda like pulled on my jaw bone and stretched my muscles. Ever since then I've been able to fix my bite position and have been doing very well. I still clench my teeth but I think that is habit and anxiety.

My goodness! A lot of things going on! I'm so sorry to hear about
the 2 year old. Those things are just incomprehensible. I know you're kids will get better. It will take time, of course. They're going to be crabby. But I know you'll get through this.
The pain in your head might be cluster headaches. I get them. Very painful but they don't last long. Scary, too!

Man....I'm so sorry that you are going through so much at once. I understand about
the kids, I go nuts whenever my daugther gets even a sniffile she is 8 months. They will be crabby and grumpy but will get better!! Give them lots of love...I know you already do! And your friend and her fianace and the little girls mother will be in my prayers, that is such a sadned thing to go though, I could not even imagine. And I do get sharp pains on the left side of my head although I do not have TMJ to my knowledge. Hope all gets better! Keep us updated.
