30mg of Lexapro

I have been on it for about a year and am struggling with anxiety and depression. It seemed really helpful at first, I am just in an awful anxiety producing situation right now. Isn't this a really high dose? I'm not sure what to think. I also take Valium as needed and Trazadone for sleep.

Hi Micky

I take the same medication as you and my understanding was that 20mg was the highest dose you may want to speak this through with your doctor? If the medications don't seem to be helping much at the moment have you tried therapy (CBT)? I found the combination of medication and therapy to be useful but just a suggestion for you to think about. Hope things start to improve for you soon and let us know how you get on.

I take 20mg of Lexapro and have had a major medication poop out and am experiencing a depression right now. This may have happened to you (Lexapro quit working).

Did your doctor have you on 30mg? Twenty is the highest my doctor said we could go.

I know it isn't fun, but it may be time for a med switch.
