Hi April,
Before I had kids I was on zoloft and it worked great for me. Now I have two kids 1 and 3. My anxiety has come back full force and I have developed a bit of OCD as well as irritation and abundant stress. I went back to the dr last september and she went ahead and put me back on zoloft. Again it helped immediately, but I kept having to increase my dosages. I also notice I was bruising easier. My appetite comletely went out the windo and I started losing weight. I am 5'7" and weighed roughly 133 and now in March I weigh 113-115. The medicine was working good despite the weight loss; however, the bruising was getting worst. Last week I noticed my legs were pretty much completely bruised from my toes to my butt. When I went to the doctor she was really concerned and ran all kinds of blood work (no insurance...eeek!) everything came back normal. I wasn't even aneimic. It was a bad reaction to the zoloft. I loved zoloft so much that I was scared to switch. I am now taking celexa. Tonight was my first dose and it is making me super jittery. I already miss my Z!!
I would definitely reccommend zoloft for anxiety. But it goes to show that everyone is different and medicine can have completely different affects on two individuals. Try it out and see. The bruising in my situation is extremely rare. If my dr would let me I would live with the bruising, but unfortunately that can not be the case!
Good luck with the zoloft. It helped with my anxiety and hopefully it will help with yours minus the bruising!
