Well we're closing in on Thanksgiving (sorry Canadians-I know it's late for you, but still close enough right?)  So I thought it would be nice to start a thread on what makes us grateful.

Gratitude and reflecting on the things that we are thankful for helps center us, and take our minds off of the things that are troubling us.  Let's make a huge list, count our blessings and chase some of the anxiety away!

I am thankful for...

*my family-great husband, awesome daughters (2), mom and dad, sisters, nieces, nephew

*my friends

*faith and church

*career/job (and husband's)

*family's health

*my house

*having significant victory over A/P and being able to enjoy life again-YES!

*This community, and all of YOU

My Higher Power
My loving husband of 46 years
our son who never forgets to call his parents
Our grandkids who come to visit their Nana and Papa
My best friend Laura who delights in helping me and
whom I delight in helping

my job
victories over chronic anxiety and depression (even if they're small ones. A lot of small victories add up!)
I'm also very thankful for this forum and all of you. It's so nice to have your support, validation, and friendship.

* my awesome therapy dog who loves me unconditionally

* having been fortunate to have been the dtr of the greatest man I ever knew

* being blessed with 4 children ( Todd, may you RIP and forever dance in my heart)

* and most of all for having the best man in the world as my husband.

Wow those are great...education-something we sometimes take for granted! 46yrs. of marraige-You go!!!!! Family, friends, children and grandchildred-those are all incredible gifts! thanks everybody for sharing...anymore out there?

46 years ~ awesome. Ours will be 40 years in June. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by but I have so many memories to look back on, good memories.

I am thankful for:

-My loving wife, who puts up with me to no end
-My unborn child who has given me strength to fight the good fight
-My great family who i miss everyday
-My therapist who is helping with the good fight
-My crazy cats who keep life interesting
-This forum for its great support

**This is an endless list so i will stop there, sometimes i forget all these things thanks for the reminder!

Nice Geo-and congratulations! BTW be grateful for sleep as well, cause pretty soon there is going to be a lot less of it, but it's totally worth it! Blessings to you and your growing family:)

Oh Scaredy Cat - you stole my idea!! I was planning to start a similar thread later in the week. Oh well... I guess as they say "great minds think alike!"


So here's my list:
  • That my faith has grown instead of being shaken as a result of this anxiety
  • That I have grown closer to my family than I ever was before the anxiety
  • That those around me love me for who I am even when I don't deserve it
  • To have kept in touch with friends who have moved all over the country and world
  • To have always had food, shelter, and clothing despite all my financial problems
  • For having come so far on my journey against anxiety/panic (it's like a new start on life)
  • For every life that I've been able to touch and for every life that's touched mine
  • And of course.... for all of you!!

Sorry for using your idea-I am quick with my cat-like moves, hee-hee! You'll come up with another one! Great list, good to see that positive things have come out of the adversity in your life. That is part of the great beauty of living-the juxtaposition of sorrow and joy, strife and victory:)

my family, there unrelenting support...i'd be lost without them
my friends, I wish I could be as good a friend to them as they are me
my music, it's rare when you can make a profession out of your love
my students, each day teaching guitar is a day well spent
my sport, a day spent swimming, cycling, or running is a day well spent
my daily rations - food...having food to eat rocks
my daily shelter - if I don't have a roof over my head its because i'm voluntarily under the stars
my day, because it's here, and I'm here, and my life, despite it's complications, would be a lot less interesting if it never existed in the first place. Existence is a blessing, even if it's a troublesome one :)

Happy Thanksgiving (well almost) to everyone here!

I am thankful for:

My husband who supports me unconditionally, and works his butt off to support us
My 6 kids whom I couldnt live without
My home (heat, hot water to shower with, etc)
The fact that I still have a job when so many others lost theirs.
The great many service men and women serving all over the world to keep us safe.
being able to see my kids everyday, and hear them laugh (and argue!) feel their hugs
being able to drive and having a car to get to places when so many others can't..
for my daughter being in college studing bio-chemestry so that one day she can help fight childhood cancer (something shes wanted to do since she was 5)
My dad being a firefighter; saving countless peoples lives and coming home every night in one piece
The fact im still breathing after all that i've gone through!
Support of people I dont even know! (thank you)

What a great list of things to be thankful for. I do hope your daughter finds ways to cure cancer as this is a topic that is near and dear to my heart.

Loving children are always a blessing and truly something to be thankful for !

When my daughter was 5, we were flipping through the channels on the tv when we came across a special on St Judes teatment center. She wanted to watch it and really took the kids stories to heart. On that day she told me she wanted to grow up to find the cure for kids with cancer. Every year shes talked about how she cant wait to go to college so she can get her degree and come up with a cure. This year shes in college (with a full 4 year paid tuition!) and going for bio chemistry with a minor in calculus. She really wants to come up with the cure. im truely blessed to have such a caring daughter! Maybe she'll work for St Jude! wouldnt that be something??

   i'm grateful that i'm going to my parents for lunch today on this beautiful sunny day  scool   

   i'm grateful for delicious meals

   i'm grateful that my husband loves me and is forgiving

   i'm grateful that my children love me and are forgiving

   i'm grateful for my parents who never stop loving and caring and helping

   i'm grateful that i have work

   i'm grateful for my parents-in-law who care and always willing to help

   i'm grateful for my brother who is kind and generous

   i'm grateful for my brother-in-law who makes me laugh and loves my children

  

   i am grateful and happy now that we have financial freedom

   i am gratuful and happy now that my husband has a good job which he does very well

   i am grateful and happy now that i have more patience

   i am grateful and happy now that i think of others more

   i am grateful and happy now that we pay our mortgage on own house in the easter suburbs

   i am grateful and happy now that we have money to go on an awesome family holiday

   i am grateful and happy now that i have consistent and reliable work that pays well

   i am grateful and happy now that i love my job and am good at it

   i am grateful and happy now that we are stress free  turn

Welcome to HealingWell and I am so glad you found us. Your list is awesome and all encompassing. I have so many to add that I will do that . Writing all the good done makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
