? For anyone whos taken Lexapro

I just started taking Lexapro last night. I woke up at 1:30am from these painfull belly cramps..... and of course we know what follows. I was in and out of the rest room until 4am. I don't have a bug, and I didnt eat anything bad so it leaves me to blame the meds. Anyone have gastro problems from Lexapro and did you stay on? Does it eventually pass?

i did have some upset stomach (sp?) when i first started lex. no bathroom runs really though. But my anxiety tended to give me these symptoms too. The first couple of weeks i experienced bunch of side effects but they generally went away after that period.

Thanks Geosojda. I have been on Cymbalta in the past and never really had belly issues with that...might just switch to that one again... the 2 week starting period was a much easier transition. After last night im to scared to take another Lexapro. lol.

Hi Kells

I take lexapro and did get a few side effects when I first started taking this medicine, These did go after 2-3 weeks and I have found it to be a good medication for me so I would say stick with it and see how you go and keep in contact with your doctor.
