I have a lot health problems and this coming Monday I am seeing a new Rheumatologist. I saw one a few years ago and he was a total jerk! I left there feeling very frustrated, angry and despondent. So I am giving the rheumy another go - not the jerk doc but his associate. The jerk doc retired. But because the jerk doc left me feeling burnt, I am getting anxious about meeting the new doc. I'm doing the ole what if's.

I am just afraid that I am not going to get answers like I did the last time. I am just getting so tired of feeling like crap. I mean if they do find something, it's not like they will be able to help much but at least I will have a name for what is happening. I already have a feeling of what I have but I'm afraid to push for the diagnosis in fear they are going to think I'm a hypochondriac. I am anything but a hypochondriac.....it's my husband that is usually pushing me out the door to see a doctor and when I go, they ask why I didn't come to see them earlier! I guess I just had some really bad experiences with doctors over the years that I feel a bit anxious at the moment.

Hi Sherry, I am sorry that you aren't feeling well currently:( The only thing worse than that is going to a bad doctor...talk about adding insult to injury! I feel you, I am not a fan of going to the doctor's, so when I do, I make sure to see one I'm comfortable with.

Shop around. (as much as your resources allow) You are a customer! When I chose my oldest daughter's pediatrician, I actually went in first just to interview her! She was suprised, but not put off, and answers my questions well. (I chose her naturally)

You have every right to be treated with kindness, and respect. I hope that this new Rheumatologist is the right one to get to the bottom of this and get you back on the track to health

I do understand your frustration.  I also apologize for my mispelling as I have been having speech problems.  Waiting for appointment  to see a neuro this week.

Thanks SC and Kitt. Unfortunately the only way I can shop around is to change everything completely in my network. I have a HMO so things are limited as to where I can go. My primary is in my network and if I go outside to a different hospital, then I would have to change my primary....which I don't want to do because I really like her. So I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. I might have to take a Klonopin to help deal with this anxiety. I only take it when I absolutely have to.

Kitt, I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble too. I'm thinking of you and please let us know what the Neuro says okay???
