Hi. I recently got weaned off lexapro because it wasn't helping my anxiety any. My doctor suggested I try Buspar and I'm on my second day of it. For the first week, I am to take a half a day. Then I will go up to two pills a day. I am excited that this med is relatively cheap(i'm on a generic), and non-addictive.

I just wanted to ask people here if Buspar has helped them any. :)

I was on buspar and lexapro at the same time there years ago. It did help :) I can't remember why I came off it or what happened, but I remember it stopped me shaking. :) I hope you find it helps!

Buspar was the only med that worked for me.

Though I did deal with a pretty upset tummy for the first 2 weeks. Doc didn't warn me about it. But I dealt with it.

I took 1/4 a pill 3 times a day. Then the doc upped my dose to 1/2 a pill and I ended with side effects and had to stop taking them.

But it did help my anxiety a lot! I wish I could take them. Out of all the meds I tried this was the only one that worked for me.

I can only speak for me and as dramatic as it sounds, I believe Buspar virtually saved my life. My anx/pa was so bad I even disassociated. 30 mgs helped. 6+ mgs for years now has been nothing short of a godsend for me. Ive never had one side effect and I personally don't know what wldve happened to me without it. Hope it works for you!

Good Morning,

I take Buspar and I was started on it for the side effects of one of my other drugs.  I cannot tell you it was a miracle drug as I have had my meds change several times. 

I do hope it helps you and your right, it is not addicting.

Buspar didn't help me when I had terrible terrible anxiety (that I was eventually hospitalized for).

But when I was still having anxiety 2 years later and dr put me back on Buspar it did help (ALOT)! And no side effects and cheap.

My sister, who is a nurse practitioner and fairly new to that, said that a dr told her that even though Buspar is an old drug, it can work really well and is worth a try.
