Hey everyone! Well I got married last year to my amazing husband! I had been on the pill up until about 3 weeks ago. My doctor suggested I try other forms of BC because my father had a Pulmonary embolsim and I'm considered high risk now. So I stopped the pill immediately, even though I was only halfway through my pack. So since my cycle hasn't been back to normal. My pharmacist says that I may just need provera shots to get regulated again.
Anyways it's past due, and I bought a pregnancy test and I cannot get myself to take it! I panic every single time I even look and it. I am terrified in so
Many ways. I'm afraid if I take the test and it's positive I'm goin to have a HUGE panic attack and flip out! I know I have to take one either here or at the doctors, but I'm terrified. Please let me know if you have any advice!

Hi PDP, Here are a couple of questions to ask yourself...What are the actual chances that you are pregnant? Did you use a back-up method after you stopped tha pill? Have you been late in the past? Or are you always on time? What is it that scares you about the possibility of being pregnant?

I think that you should take the test for two reasons: One, you probably have nothing to worry about, and this will put an end to your worry. Two, if in the event that you are, you need to know so that you can take the best care that you can, as early as you can, for yourself and baby.

Have you talked about this with your husband yet? What are his feelings about it? Maybe you could take the test, and let him look first (or your mom, sister, girlfriend ect...) Then they can support and be there for you either way.

Hey everyone! So I took a pregnancy test and it was positive!!! I cried for about 10 min, thinking about alot of negative things. I suppose in the 10 min I got it all out cause I was suddenly happy, and haven't been down from it since then. I guess I was stressed from not knowing. I have a dr appointment tmrw cause I've been sick, so I'm gonna have them test me officially!
Now I have another question. For 3 days now I have been having pains all over my body. It feels like what I would imagine fibromyalgia is like. It's sharp intense pains in my muscles over ever inch of my body, with a few points that are particularly bad. Is this something that's common in early pregnancy? I read that it could possibly be changes in calcium in the body.

Wow! Congratulations:) I am happy for you, and glad that you are coming to terms with this news. It is always a shocker, even when you are planning it, but even more so when you're not, so good job on keeping your composure!

I think that if you asked most parents, you'd find that many had unexpected suprises. I also think you would not find any who had regrets once the initial shock and uncertainty wore off;) How is your husband feeling about it? I hope that he can give you the encouragement and support you need:)

It's been so long since my last pregnancy (10 yrs) that I can't remember the aches and pains in the beginning...but everyone is different, and anything can happen as your body is already undergoing a ton of changes!

Congratulations to you in more then one way. You walked through your fear and took the test. Crying was your bodies first reaction as it feels to me it was a reaction to finally getting rid of the stress you were feeling from the worrying you were going through.

Now, a huge congratulations on your pregnancy and as a Mother of four, I will always remember the feeling of looking into my babies eyes for the very first time and feeling the love, so much love and so many dreams. You have this to look forward to.

Let us know re how your Physician's visit goes. I am anxious to know what your Dr. had to say re your concern "sharp intense pains in my muscles over ever inch of my body, with a few points that are particularly bad."

To the best of my knowledge, eating and drinking at least 4 servings of dairy products and calcium-rich foods a day will help ensure that you are getting 1200 mg of calcium in your daily diet. Your Dr. will know the guideines and your particular needs.

Again, congratulations and know we are here to support and advise you as well as we can.

I'm usually on the chronic pain board, but have been over here, too. I have many medical issues and 8 kiddos (long story!). Anyway, I just want you to know that I know a lot about depression/anxiety, chronic pain and all sorts of things while being pregnant.
