i am so far behind in my studies that it is just not funny anymore. with rapid cycling bi-polar and other illness impacting on me i just can' t sit and do it. well i try like heck, today i have done a bit, but it aint enough for the time expended-aaarrrggghhhh!!!!!!! oh well, will do my usual refreshing shower and have another crack for awhile. living on your own and having to do everything is very time consuming for me. if it is not appts it is visitors, then it is something else, then i have crashed or i am bouncing of the walls with mania. i don't know. thought i would consult you kind people on the forum for a little guidance. thx, jamie.

Good Morning Jamie,

I do understand the feeling of the faster your go the behinder you get smhair .

Of course what spikes when you get in that spot is your anxiety.

Jot down what makes you happy and what keeps you unhappy. ... Let your affirmation become your own sacred mantra and a protection against negative thoughts.

If the class is to overwhelming for you then perhaps you could talk to your  teacher and see how to come up with a plan to deal with your problems.

Also let your friends or company know what time of day you are not available to visit as you need to get your studies done.  Put yourself first and know it is OK.

Jamiee...I am pressed for time myself, but wanted to send you encouragement. You can only do as much as you can do. You are dealing with a whole lot right now, and doing a fantastic job. Don't put too much pressure on yourself, and everything will work itself out:)

Take care of yourself first and foremost...you are awesome!

Hey Jaimee, I had just a couple of ideas for you to consider...

Could you ask for an extension for some of your work? If you explain your medical reasons for needing a little extra time, your professors may be understanding.

Maybe if you studied in a different environment, like say the library, or a quiet coffee house it would help you to not only have more privacy, (no friends popping by) but to resist the temptation to do anything but your work.

Treating yourself to rewards when you reach certain goals. Say fifteen minutes of something fun, like a video game, for every hour or so of studying:)

BTW...what are you studying? You don't have to share unless you want to, I am just curious. Whatever it is, I am sure that you will be a success!

thx kitt and scaredy cat. am doing some of these. yes have thought about the library. will e-mail my lecturer later. trying to complete a diploma in community services (mental health). thx for your support guys. jamie

At the college i went to there were services for people who had disabilities. Note-takers, lectures e-mail to you, etc. Have you looked into it?

What I do Jamie, is focus only on the one assignment I am currently working on, and take the emphasis off the behind assignments.  This is the only way I know to manage this, or it will become overwhelming for me, and unproductive.  I need to keep things simple, and bit by bit, I get through the behind things.

I am proud of you, just do your best, you know this stuff inside out.

Hey Jamie,

Sorry you are stressing about school work. Sometimes I get myself so worked up over things I need to do that seem like they are going to take forever but if I break it down into smaller pieces I do not feel so overwhelmed. I know it must be super hard with the rapid cycling but atleast you are going to school and trying. Now take a deep breath, shift your focus for a while and hopefully you will breeze right through it!
