Day 10 citalopram 10mg. Ended up at accident and emergency after a major panic attack, never thought it would get so bad! Havent been out of my bed in 5 days. Not at work! Feel so sore everywhere, lying in bed feeling my heart continually jump, breath catching in throat, weird sensations in face, whole mouth throat and tongue feel numb so i cant feel myself breathing. So tired i cant sleep!

Please someone tell me it will get better!

It will get better PrincessConswela. You have to learn to breathe through the panic attacks. In through the nose, out through the mouth with pursed lips. That controls your breathing and brings down your heart rate. You can do this with practice. Pretend you are smelling the roses and blowing out the candles. Practice will save you a trip to the er.

Hi P.C., I am sorry that you are feeling so unwell right now.

You work for a dr. right? Have you checked with him/her to make sure that these are normal/expected side effects for beginning this medication? This could be something that you just have to endure until the med has built up and leveled off in your system, or it could be that you need an adjustment or change altoghether. I would recommend a consult with your prescribing dr., or boss to make sure.

Either way, I hope that you will start to feel better and have relief both from the anxiety and side effects soon!
