Just wanted to say hello. I am a new memeber with 13 years worth of experiencing p/a's. I have come a long way...not there yet, but optimistic! Anyway....nice to be here!

Thanks for the kind words Kitt. I am 47 years old and had my first p/a 13 years ago. I struggled with them until I read my first book about anxiety and realized what I had and there were others like me. After reading that book it calm me so much that I went two years with anxiety but no panic attack! So eventually I relapsed and studied more material, learned new coping skills and greatly reduced my panic attacks, but still feel edgy often. My biggest phobia by far is being isolated, like driving somewhere that is out in the middle of nowhere. For the most part though I function in life fairly well and often find ways to enjoy life while at times feeling anxious, but dealing with it....I have never been on meds and vow to beat this without them! and I will.

Hello, I'm Serenitee, and wanted to welcome you here to Healingwell Site. It's so great to hear how positive your outlook on anxiety and panic-attacks are. I too, suffer from Extreme Anxiety and Panic Attacks. They have gotten worse and not better, even though I have learned coping skills and what-not.

Look forward to your posts and hopefully you come on the Chat Thread sometime.

Thank you LW, nicely said and I think it will be one more thing that will take me down the road to recovery.
Thank you SC and yes...I do look forward to both giving and receiving. An open mind to things goes a long way and if I can help make a difference for someone else, that is a big plus!
Nice to hear from you Serenity!....for me the key to making progress is...focus on even the smallest baby step and to enjoy that moment. We deal with stress and anxiety daily, but we can create our own moments of happines and or relief. The more positive moments we have, even if short lived...was still a moment without anxiety. I have lived with this for many years Serenity but I will beat this and with all of us together you will too!!....Even though sometimes thats hard to believe, tell yourself that everyday....sometimes even the smallest of methodes can have a huge outcome and possibly cause a turning point or at least something to build on!....We are here for you!.....Have a great day y'all, I'm headed out to work and going to make it a good day....hope it is a good one for you as well. wingman
