New Some Quick Help for My Sister

My sister, whom I'm going to register here after this post, is here at my house having what I am thinking is a panic attack. I am an anxiety sufferer and tend to really focus on physical symptoms and she is now going thru what I started out with totally panic attacks from physical symptoms and there was nothing wrong. Can symptoms starting in the bottom of your feet as prickly and tingling and numby kinda feeling and stuff be a physical symptom of anxiety? I know head tight feeling is.

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Hi ocean and sorry to hear about your sister:( Hyperventilation can cause paresthesia, or tingling/numbing of the extremities. This does go along with an anxiety attack, however, if her symptoms worsen, it is always good to err on the side of caution, and be checked out by a medical professional.

Anxiety does run in families with a genetic/upbringing factor, so if this is indeed A/P, it's not so suprising.

I hope that she feels better soon, and yes, hook her up with us here...we will do our best to welcome her and help:)

Welcome to HealingWell. I would kindly suggest if your sister is having some sort of physical crisis right now that you check in with your Dr. or call the triage nurse at your clinic/ER.

Anxiety strikes us with many different physical sx however if she has never been dx and this is her first time ever it would be wise to seek professional attention.

Encouraging her to join HealingWell is a great idea. I hope she finds that she likes it here and we will be looking forward to meeting her.
