Hazel, by manic, it means:
Manic: affected with, relating to, characterized by, or resulting from mania
Mania: excitement manifested by mental and physical hyperactivity, disorganization of behavior, and elevation of mood; specifically : the manic phase of bipolar disorder.
Or it could be the total opposite, like manic depression.
They have to list every imaginable side effect of these meds for legal reasons. No one that i've known, that has taken this kind of med, has had ALL of the listed side effects. Effexor is an SSRI, which most of the time, will make you a bit more anxious in the begininng until your body adjusts to it. Talk to your doctor and see what they think would be the best option for you.
