You got to love em - these people that feel they can say whatever they feel like. Sweetie, I have met so many of these people and it took me until just recently to learn how to handle these snide comments.
I could get all gussied up and feel really good about
myself only to get to work and someone say, "You don't look good, are you sick?" What the he$$ ? Well dang, I thought I looked purty hot myself. Of course, like you, then I would start to fret and wonder if I was missing something and the person I saw in the mirror looked like death warmed over instead of purty hot. Maybe my vision was going bad and I couldn't see as well as this person who indicated I looked "SICK" ?
These are the same people that will tell you right after you get a new hair-do, " You got your hair cut, I liked it the way it was" . Zing ! My first instinct is to ask them, "Who asked what you like?" But being raised to be kind, I would just stand their with my mouth hanging
open.
Would you ask a bald man, "Wow, what happened to your hair ?"
I always had a hard time dealing with these comments until my therapist taught me to say right back at these rude people, " What do you mean by that ?"
Consider the source and move on. If you can avoid these people - great and if you can't try my line above. Please know you are not sick and the person is rude so kick this person to the curb along with any worries about
being sick.
You have my support and don't let others steal your karma.
Gentle Hugs,
Kitt
