leg zaps on celexa anyone

for the 2nd time in 2 weeks when i went to bed i take my celexa i started getting pains or hot flashes in my legs or brainzaps kept me up all night
didnt seem like brain zaps it was leg zaps

my grandma thinks maybe its leg cramps at night because all i been doing is sitting for 2 months because dizzyness at least thats finially gone

Hi

This is a common side effect of ssri's I get them every now and then. I would suggest if they are worrying you speak with your doctor.

oh ok i was just checking and making sure that it was a side effect
is it anything to worry about or just involves the leg
i was worried about a seizure but DR said it was from the medicine

i hope ill get better tomorrow is 3 weeks on celexa today was a bad day because sleep last night

Brain or body zaps are very common when taking or stopping drugs like Celexa.  I used to get them all the time while on Lexapro.  They should stop once the drug is completely in your system...I ended up taking the pill in the morning to prevent insomnia and those electrical sensations while I was falling asleep at night. My doctor never called me back either...I called my pharmacist and she reassured me this was just a side effect.

thank you vestabula that makes me feel better. I did not have them last night but i do have an upset stomach today but today is my 3rd week maybe its in my system now

I usedd to tkae Celexa and i would have leg zaps! its not serious just annoying

I've been an lexapro for 4 years and just had leg zaps for the first time this week, scared the hell out of me!

Did this happen after an increase in dosage, or other change?

since i have been taking celexa now for about 4 months
my panic has almost disappeared i can go out without shaking
im guessing the side effects like leg zaps go away after awhile right "
because mine have left

only problem i still have dizziness, lightheadedness feel like im on a water bed

No change in dosage, didn't have one today so maybe it was just a thing

Sorry to hear about the dizziness..that is miserable. You described it perfectly with the water bed description! I posted to you in the other thread about the breathing techniques...try them consistently for 10 min 2x a day, and see how you feel:)

You have been on the medication for 4 months - do ask your Dr. about the  dizziness.  If it is do to the medication perhaps a different med is called for.  JMHO.

no because i had the dizzyness before the meds
