I know this is ridiculous, but then again anxiety is usually ridiculous too!
I woke up several times last night with pain in my hip, bad enough to wake me up. Most people would pass this off as just a random ache and pain thats not serious, but of course not me! I got myself sooo worked up thinking "what ifs" and ended up fixated on blood clot. I kept imagining it breaking loose and traveling somewhere deadly. I'm still really shaken up about it! (It just happened)
I just needed to vent. I'm so glad I found this forum!

I totally understand! Waking up in the middle of the night, when your defenses are down is tough! Reason and reality fly out the window and the groggy, swirling, scary thougts can easily take over!

How are you feeling this morning? Better I hope. I like to repeat a positive/calming mantra when I wake up scared. I say to myself:

'I am okay! It is only fear that is making me think/feel this way.'

Well, so you don't feel too bad, I'll confess...I woke up from a bad dream about a rogue alligator chasing me...I had climbed up on top of a storage shed and I thought it was high enough...but he could somehow stand on his hind legs, and snapped his huge jaws...

That's when I woke up, sweaty and heart racing! I had to get up walk around a bit and calm down before I could fall back asleep!

An alligator? Seriously?...but last night at 2:00 it was pretty scary! Lol!

LOL @ SC! An alligator huh? Well how about this "crazy" dream I had last night, it wasn't scary, but it may be a bit graphic so here goes..... (let me know if I "crossed the line" with this info.

I had a dream that I was shaving my legs, and then it went to my armpits, you know, the norm for a woman. But then, all of the sudden I was shaving my eyebrows off, and to top it off, and this is where it gets kind of graphic, I was actually shaving the top half of my nipples off!!! Now what the hell!?!? I woke up and had to look and make sure "they" were ok. Hahahahaha! I think it's from increasing my med. It happens all the time when I increase....CRAZY DREAMS!

Hopefully you are feeling a bit better today sjennings, trust me I know how it feels to wake up in a panic over something like that.

***CRINGE!!!*** that would qualify as a bad dream to me Foxy!

I am glad that the girls are all right!!!

Dreams...you can have 'em...just give me 8 solid hours of deep dark sleep!

Sorry we went off-topic SJ...but distraction does help with anxiety issues, Lol...and we always have plenty of goofy stories to distract each other! :)

Hahaha those dreams sound scary! I had a dream once that my teeth fell out! Not the best dream.
Anyways, I'm always glad for a distraction from anxiety! Its better than thinking about it 24/7 :)

Ooooooh! The dreaded teeth falling out dream! I used to have them all the time. It was either my teeth would be falling out, or they would be extremely loose. Then I would wake up freaking out about my teeth. I hated those dreams, haven't had one for a while....

When I was a kid, I used to have weird dreams that I was being hit in my head with a huge sack of flour! Hahahahaha! It was a recurring dream too. I don't know what that was all about. The human mind is a hard puzzle to crack!

I always have dreams about rejection....usually from some man who was in my life years ago who ultimately did reject me and now is doing it again in my dreams. Yet at other times I have wonderful love-filled dreams about those same men adoring me - and then wake up - so I'm depressed either way. You would think at my age (64) I woiuldn't even care - and on a daily basis I don't (at least I think I don't). They are VERY rarely sexual dreams just either feelings of painful rejection or wonderful dreams where this man adores me. (Boy would Freud have a field day with me) But I've been alone now for 16 years raising my now-20-year-old son without so much as a date in all those years (and not caring, I didn't think). So why these dreams now??? I think it might have something to do with the fact that my three boys are all grown and out of the house and I'm suddenly feeling the effects of being alone. Friends always prod me to go on some dating website but I really don't know if that's what I want either...it would be pretty hard after all these years to have any man come into my life unless it was under my guidelines - and that's not fair. So I'm just stuck in this anxiety-depression filled black hole not knowing how to dig myself outl
