In my opinion, the best options for therapy are...(listed in order of preference)
*One-on-one therapy with a licensed therapist (or if appropriate, a psychologist)
*Group therapy
*Self-help therapy: ie., on-line, a DVD program or self-help book
This is just my opinion...others may feel differently...so the decision is ultimately up to you and what your situation allows.
As far as the type of therapy...that is where seeing someone one-on-one can be beneficial. The therapist can determine what is going to be the best fit for you...whether it be CBT, EMDR, DBT, hypnosis, or other method.
If you are looking into an on-line program such as Moodgym, or getting some workbooks, then CBT is your best bet I believe.
I hope that you hear from some others as well, as their opinions and input should also be helpful.:)
Great question!
