Cipralex 10mg

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I was prescribed cipralex 10mg. I am only supposed to take 5mg for the first week, and then go up to 10mg just so my body can slowly adjust.

I was wondering if anyone could let me know what the main side effects are?

It's only my second day taking it but I can easily say I'm feeling completely exhausted and my head feels foggy. Other than that I don't feel much different but the pharmacist said it takes 3-5 weeks for full effects to kick in and my anxiety/depression can sometimes seem worse in the meantime..

If anyone has experience with this medication I would love to hear about it.. (and please only positive post**** ..... I don't want to hear that the medication is garbage and doesn't work because everyone is different and I don't need anymore negative thoughts entering my head!)

Well I am sort of in the same boat. Today I started on generic Lexapro. I have taken many different SSRIs over the years, so I will give you my own experience, but really remember, just like you said, everyone is different.

With some SSRIs I get a little dizzy. I feel like I just stepped off an elevator. Also, my sleep patterns tend to get a little wacky, typically with really vivid dreams. I also have had the "constantly want to nap" feeling on past SSRIs. Depending on the medication the side effects have varied.

I would say though, that it is true, it does take about 3 - 5 weeks to fully kick in. And, as a bonus, by the time most if not all of the side effects are gone! Hang in there, it really does get better.

Hi

Good to meet you I take the same medication as you and have found it to work very well for me. All AD do come with side effects but these do ease after a couple of weeks and I would say they take between 6-8 weeks before the full beneficial effects can be noticed.

It is always a good idea to do some therapy alongside AD as the combo will get the best results as the medication will just help with the symptoms but not the cause. I hope this medication works well for I know a lot of people have had good results let us know how you get on.
