Hey everybody!

I am sorry that I have been MIA the last couple of days.  My in-laws are in town for the week and I have been super-busy being the 'Hostess with the Mostest' Lol!  Having house guests is a pretty exhausting job...and my husband conveniently 'checks-out' sometimes...leaving me to socialize on top of everything else!  I don't know why he thinks it's okay for his parents to travel across the country to watch him work, or worse...read the paper!!!

So I end up trying to start up conversations and it kind of wears me out.  I actually look forward to going to work to get some rest...and I exercise the whole time I am there for goodness sake;p

Anyway, it is fun as we are doing day trips and such...and they are nice folks...but it takes all my time and energy to have them here...so I will be on only here and there.

Thanks to all who are posting and helping each other...keep up the good work!

Hi Scaredy! Figured you had something goin on! :)
I'm sure you exhausted. I would convieniently check out when he is there hehe, and take a coffee break or have some time to yourself out of the house. If you did that maybe hed realize your tired and take over for a while :)

I hate having to start conversations, but just keep smiling. Glad you are having fun on the trips! Rest whenever you can, hope your having a good summer so far!

I am glad you are going to have some "me" time to  do what you love and recharge your batteries.  My  husband conveniently 'checks-out' even if we don't have company.  smhair   Hide the paper (hee hee).

Sounds like you are being kept busy but also sounds like you are having fun on your day outings. Every thing seems to be going well here.

Well the folks have left for home...I have my house back in order, and am feeling much better.

Things were a little touch and go for awhile there...I started to feel like a servamt in my own house. I mean I will do anything for family and friends as long as I feel that there is some enjoyment or appreciation...but I got nothing from them!

Example:

I would get up and put out breakfast, clean up after...start dinner in the slow cooker and go to work...come home, finish dinner, clean up after, ect..

I would barely get a mumbled 'Thanks for dinner.', if that. It seems that it is just expected from me.

Once I went fishing for a compliment and asked my FIL if he liked the chicken that I had made and his reply was "Well, I'm eating it aren't I?''

Another time, I was cooking dinner and my MIL came in to the kitchen and after much (somewhat theatrical) deep breathing and stomach rubbing was asked by my hubby what was wrong. she said that the smell of the food was making her queasy! OMG! Who says that? I mean I am no Martha Stewart, but I can cook...really! (lol, these stories aren't making a very strong case for me!)

I know, I should just stop making an effort...let my husband take care of everything, but when they are here for a full seven days, that is just not an option...we'd all starve!;p

Anyway, it is done for another year or so...rant over...sorry , but thanks I feel better! I try to keep in mind that it is not all about me. My husband and daughter got to have a good visit...and that is what counts.

I am glad to have my computer room back, and have the energy to do anything else but cook and clean...and I am very glad to be back here with my HW family!
