starting a new job anxiety

I was recently retrenched ( i finished work about 2 1/2 weeks ago) and I've been lucky enough (i do realise how lucky i am. i've seen how made the job market is) to find a new job starting tomorrow! I started to get anxious about it last night. It's all happened so fast I don't feel like I've had time to process everything. It's only 2 days a week at a psychology clinic as a receptionist/office all rounder. I'm still anxious about it. Just regular new job jitters I guess. It's a husband/wife team that work from home. They seem really nice. It's close to where I live so I won't have to spend an hour traveling like I used to.
Wish me luck and I'll let you know how I settle in.

Congratulations!!

You don't need luck, as I know you will do a great job and bring great skills and dedication to your new position...but just for tradition's sake...Good Luck!:)

I hope that you really like the new job, and that after the initial first day jitters, you settle in and feel comfortable soon.

They hired you, because they assessed you and decided that they wanted you on board. So you have already made a favorable impression that will arrive with you today; remember that! Tell yourself "Yes,I can do this job" - and go to it. My best wishes to you!

By the time you read this you will have your first day behind you.  Remember it takes from 6 months- 1 year to feel comfortable in a new position with a new company.

*sigh* I made it through with flying colours. I was fairly anxious while I was getting ready but after I'd headed out and got to work I was fine of course. I met the other lady I'll be working with and she's really nice. I was a bit worried she'd think I was stealing her job or something but I think it will work out well. After spending some more time learning the ropes from her I'll be working 9-4 2 days a week and she'll be doing 12.30 -5.30 the same 2 days. Well I think I'll go have some desert then head to bed. It's been a big day.

Yeah! I am so glad that it went well!:)

Congratulations on getting through your first day...I hope that you had an extra decadent dessert and a good night's sleep...you deserve it!
