I am so sorry to hear this.:( What a bad time of year too. Please know that you are not alone...many others are going through the same thing, as the economy is just not bouncing back as quickly as projected.
How long have you known? I ask because there is going to be an intial period of shock, anger, mourning and fear...these are normal and appropriate emotions.
I think that those of us with anxiety get into such a 'fix it' or 'manage it' mode when it comes to the things that we are feeling. This is how we deal with our anxiety when it is at too high of a level. However, for now, if this has just happened...you have every right to take some time and feel what you are feeling.
Take things one step at a time. Do one thing everyday. Even if it is just looking at what is out there in terms of jobs...then as you feel stronger you can work on updating your resume, and making a few calls/e-mails.
My oldest daughter was just looking for a job and was bogged down with worry. She was overwhelmed, so I made this suggestion...and she got the first job that she went out for!
Again, sorry for the rough news...but you are going to bounce back and get something even better!:)
Keep posting...we will cheer you on during this time.
