Can I ask my phsychologist to call her by her name?

I call her 'doctor', my other pshychologist asked me the way I liked to be called and she told me I could call her April. But she hasn't told me anything, I want to call her by her name, I don't know, to not seeing her like a doctor, can I do that?

It just depends on the psychologist and the relationship the two of you have. Some psychologists are more formal than others, and I think it's easier to be less formal after you have known the psychologist for awhile. If it's something that you need in the therapeutic relationship, I would broach the subject gently and ask when (or if) it would be appropriate to call her by her name.
