First of all, Happy New Year everyone!!! I haven't posted for a while because I've been trying to limit my amount of anxiety information so that I don't allow my OCD to start obsessing over things I read, see, and hear on forums and then make me think I have them, too. I have missed posting though :-(
Anyway, I decided that I should start exercising not for the weight loss, but for general health and well being so for the past week off and on I've been doing either 60 minutes of cardio Pilates and also 60 minutes of brisk walking on the treadmill. Sometimes I do them on the same day, but more often I've been alternating days. I've been trying to clean up my diet somewhat as well, and reduce how much sugar I consume. All good anxiety alleviating things I've been told. Well, here's the thing...my anxiety is fine while I'm working out, but then an hour or two after I'm done, I feel spooled up and anxious. This is kind of a pattern with me when it comes to exercise followed by anxiety that I've noticed through out the years. I aim to get healthier and then BOOM!, my anxiety makes it almost impossible to keep up.
My therapist I've been seeing would tell me to just work through my feelings and know that they aren't going to hurt me and I want to do that, but I just worry so much about
awful symptoms coming back that I feel like I don't really think it's worth it sometimes.
Physically the Dr's say that I'm fine, and I've seen neuro's, cardio's, and GP's all within the past year or two and have had EEG's, EKG's, Stress Echo's, 24 Holter monitors, event loop recorders, etc and other than revealing benign PVC's, they've all said I'm perfectly healthy and have no restrictions. Wonderful news and makes me very very happy to hear that, but I've been feeling pretty great for the past few months and REALLY don't want to go back to the awful issues I had previously with anxiety.
Does anyone have any thoughts why this might be happening to me and does anyone else ever feel the same way? Thanks for taking the time to read my post
