Ear pain and dizziness

Finished Zoloft on 4/2 because it wasn't helping with my anxiety/depression. Doc put me on WellbutrinXL 150mgs. But, since mid march I have been struggling daily with slight annoying dizziness, heavy eyes and what feels like a tension headache all day long. I get relief at night though. This past Thursday my ears have started in. I get sharp pains in both, but my right one is worse. My family doc said ears look fine and this can be an effect of the depression and anxiety. I have an appt. with and ENT on Monday because I just can't take it anymore. It is annoying and all I think about. A friend suggested acupuncture...anyone ever do this to help with anything?

Hi laxmom,

I would definitely follow up with the ENT. Ear pain and dizzyness is just too related to not think that there may be an underlying issue with your ears.

Are you also considering that this could be part of the s/e's of changing your meds? Is the timing of your symptoms lining up with the change in Rx?

I have dizzyness as a symptom of anxiety from time to time. However, at one point it was getting particularly bad...and constant. When I went into see my doctor about it, I had a middle ear infection. No pain, just dizziness and a muffled/clogged sound and feeling.

I hope that you get the answers that you need soon. Let us know what you hear from the ENT.
