Having a difficult week, was doing ok for a while, very stressed at work, I know I can't quit my job but its just getting beyond a joke, no one listens
I work 10,11,12 hour shifts a day , I sit at a desk all day hardly move around and am expected to eat my lunch at the desk, I have the choice of 2 broken chairs that do nothing for my back, I have asked for a chair that won't give me a back injury.
It seems everything that is asked to improve the position is met with a resounding no!!
Today I was getting talked down by a colleague , I am usually uh uh yup ok sure but today, he clicked his fingers and said "c'mon I want to show you something" I automatically thought am I a dog ???
I got extremely angry but a quiet boiling kettle, it's safe to say I don't like this guy much, and he comes across quite arrogant.
The feeling of instantly switching on the anxiety in a split second, to have your heart beat like a machine gun over little things .
The constant stress that is inflicted on me on a daily basis is getting too much.
I am working on my stress relief but I find that I am filling up more than a can release, holiday sounds appealing
Been having constant symptoms lately
Shaking hands
Tingling in head
Muscle spasms
Recently I been getting a gurgling sound when I am sleeping, I am a little worried about
this one, will go see a doc soon as I have a day off
Anyone else relate?

Hi SH
I know the feeling! I was up to 2am angry about
this ***** at work. Now I'm paying for it during the day, just finishing up an anxiety episode that came on during a lunch meeting. I've been really relaxed lately just a little flare up because I let somebody get to me. I so want to think that lady ruined my sleep but the fact is that I let my head get ahead of me
We don't have to be angry or feel upset because of what other people say or do. In the end we are in complete control of our own thoughts and feelings!
Hope you feel better soon!

SH,
I am sorry that you are having a difficult week at work...it does sound rough. I think that it is good that you are advocating for yourself, and I encourage you to keep doing so, like in your request for a new chair! You deserve that and a lunch break!! Keep at it until you have some resolution...workers do have rights by state laws...you may want to research the specifics of yours.
Do you currently have coping exercises to deal with your anxiety and bring your stress levels down? Hopefully you are able to use these as they are effective in reducing the mental and physical symptoms.
If you need some fresh ideas, you can always look into our Resources on our main page.
Keep posting. We are here for understanding and support!:)

I'm sorry your having a rough week. I have been having a rough week myself. Try not to let your colleague get to you, he sounds like an arrogant booty to me! We can only control how we treat others, we cannot control how others treat us. We can control how we react to it though.
I'm not very good at "speaking up" yet, but I am practicing. Take some deep breathes, tell yourself "its okay, I will get thru this" and push thru. Find a way to get your stress out, exercise, relaxation CD, whatever it may be. I hope you get relief from this soon.

Thanx everyone, good to vent and relate to others, I will keep at my breathing .
I must have got under that guys fingernails today, he got moved to another area of the building, he didn't seem happy , while he was leaving I just couldn't help myself a smirk just came over my face, I think he seen it.
I don't care , I'm loving it, " LOViNG IT" ;)

Great to hear! :) Maybe his elimination from your immediate space will help make work easier to tolerate.
I try to tell myself sometimes when people are being rude/disrespectful/aggravating that I'm not there to make friends, I'm there to pay the light bill. haha

Just for thought, this person has had to be a jerk to others before you, your company knows!
