The anxiety continues. That off balance feeling continues. Yet I sleep fine and once I lie down in bed and watch some TV I am totally relaxed. A month ago other than mild anxiety I was OK. Now today standing in line or having to cross a street sets me off. Why those two things I have no idea. They never bothered me before. Here's what started this whole mess.

about a month ago I left my house and crossed the street. Before I got to the other side some guy rolls down his car window and starts screaming at me that I have a bad attitude. I never saw him before. He tells me that everytime he sees me that I have a lousy attitude. I shook my head and walked away and he contnued to scream at me. Maybe that's why I get anxious now when I have to cross a street?

I've been working part time under the table for a friend making some decent extra money which has helped a lot with the food and bills. about 3 weeks ago my friend pretty much stopped using me for work and he's got two other guys that normally work for him getting extra hours. I'm 60 years old and in pretty good shape but when we had a heat wave I had a rough time so I think he doesn't want to see me collapse on the job. But I never got an explanation.

Last Friday I had to put my 16 year old cat to sleep. I almost passed out in the vets office. It was horrible.

I am getting very little help here at home from my daughter and sister. Let's just leave it at that.

I am soooo sorry to hear about your furbaby! That is SUCH a hard thing to go through. If you go through the grieving process, that's okay. It's okay to grieve the loss of these special friends. Hugs to you.

As far as the work thing, maybe he feels like it's a delicate topic to raise. If he's younger, he may think it would cause a misunderstanding. If you were having a rough time in the heat, you may need to slow down until the weather changes anyway. I know it's hard to lose income, but you've got to take care of your body first.

And, honestly, sometimes the heat just affects us worse, no matter our age. I had a heat stroke in my early twenties. No fun, friend, no fun. I'm usually fine with heat, but for some reason, that time was harder.

I've got a feeling that your friend will be calling more when it cools off a little bit.

Oh, and the meanie who yelled at you in the road, sounds like he's the one with the bad attitude.

That is a lot of issues to be dealing with right now for you!

We can't choose to meter out the stressfull events in our life, and unfortunately at times, they come in batches.

We can however do things that help us to cope to the best of our abilities in the storms.

What have you tried as far as anxiety relief? If you need some good self-help ideas, we have some great ones in our Resources. (main page, 1st post)

Practicing the breathing and relaxation exercises daily for example, can really help to lower anxiety levels, and the symptoms thereof.

Keep posting with us as well. We are here to listen and understand.:)
