Just can't take much more!

Hi to all,

My 31year old son went to his doctors approx. one month ago for a routine

check up. He has high blood pressure and is somewhat over weight and

goes to the doctor for routine labs once a year. He also has major anxiety issues

and has since the age of six. His father passed at the age of 58 from

heart problems. He had health related anxiety issues. I have seen my son

struggle with anxiety for years. He is presently on Zoloft and has been for about

six years.

To make a long story short, the doctor called the other day and my son is in

kidney failure! He has fallen apart. He sits and cries when he is awake but

most of the time he lays and sleeps. I am sure its depression. I need help

he is not doing well dealing with this and I feel like my hands are tied.

The future does not look good! My anxiety is out the roof and its not my life

that has been destroyed. I can't imagine living on this earth with out my son,

since my husband died three years ago he has been my rock.

I have already lost two sons.

Please pray for my son !

I am so sorry to hear about this news. I can't imagine how difficult the whole situation is, and the whole list of emotions that it is bringing up for you both.

Hope is not lost however! Many people continue to live happy and healthy lives with medical procedures for kidney issues.

It is not too late for your son to make positive and healthy changes that could help to improve his over all health and increase his chances of living a long time.

I would recommend talking with your son and his doctor to address the depression issue head on. Getting into a place of pro-active health advocacy for himself is crucial.

You may have to be a big motivational factor for him at this time, so be sure and take care of yourself as well.
