bakomomSigns and symptoms of menopause are usually enough to tell most women that they've started the menopausal transition. If you have concerns about irregular periods or hot flashes, talk with your doctor. In some cases further evaluation may be recommended. I know you are young and I suspect the anxiety is causing most of your problems but it never hurts to see your Dr.
Under certain circumstances, your doctor may recommend blood tests to check your level of Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and estrogen (estradiol), because your FSH levels increase and estradiol levels decrease as menopause occurs.
He may also want to test your Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), because hypothyroidism can cause symptoms similar to those of menopause.
Certain antidepressants related to the class of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) may decrease menopausal hot flashes as well as help your anxiety if your Dr. feels that may be one way to treat your sx.
Your day, yesterday, was not a good day for you and to be insulted with having hot flashes and cramps it is no wonder you were ready to tear your hair out. I do have to send you lots of kudos for taking a rescue dog and loving it. Please give yourself lot of hugs for caring about your puppy.
I wish today is a peaceful one. Be good to yourself. Consider the check up with the Dr. in the near future.
Gentle Hugs,
Kitt
