Have an appointment on Monday to discuss what's going on. Almost 2 weeks on Zoloft 25mg and am more anxious than ever. I keep hearing it takes time to work. Still waiting! I'm going ask the doctor if there is anything that will take the edge off until Zoloft works. Maybe a low dosage that wont turn me into a zombie. Any advice? What has worked for you??? Your support is greatly appreciated!!!

Maybe a low dose of Xanax. That's what I take and it helps me...

Ditto. Half a Xanax takes the edge off.

Poetic & Special, how long did your Zoloft take to kick in? Did the Xanax make you drowsy during the day? Thank you so much for responding!

Mom this is Larry, all I ever had was xanax, use as needed, I always tried to ride it out first because the
med really hammered me, I also used half still carry it just to feel safe, from what I have read it takes
longer for your med to reach therapeutic levels the doctor should know. Peace

Thank you Larry. Will talk to the doctor on Monday. I just want something to take the edge off and not hammer me during the day. Still praying Zoloft kicks in very soon.

I have never taken any ant-depressants. I have only taken Xanax. It doesn't hammer me but I only take 1/2 of one daily and more if needed. Hope that helps.

Mom, Xanax is the fastest working, short time of power is about 2-6 hrs
Ativan is next not quite as fast but lasts a lot longer maybe 6-10,
Klonopin is slower, weaker, and I am not sure about the time.
