Prednisone and Hives

I have taken prednisone after a bite on a train on the way to Glacier National Park. Am trying to get off the prednisone, but every time I get below 7.5 mgs., I break out in hives. Am told my family physician that hives are an over-reaction of my immune system and not related to the bite. Was on a 3 day regimine of pregnisone that has turned into a 3 month regimen!! HELP!!

HElP! I need to get off this med!!

I think that you might have meant to post this in the allergy forum?

I am not knowledgable about steroids, but they may have advice there...or perhaps in UC or Crohn's?
